This is a video of the prototype levitating motor. Its speed here is 1,000 RPM operating from 1 volt at 100µA (0.1mW).
By replacing the central rotor assembly with an internal diamagnetic cylinder, speeds of over 100,000 RPM have been achieved.
There are significant risks and dangers posed by such rotational velocities. Not only burnt fingers, from accidental rotor contact but neodymium magnets can disintegrate at such speeds.

Sadly we're not at that stage yet - a couple of troublesome design issues and we're still awaiting patent confirmation.

We had planned to have a product available by Christmas but, for various reasons, it will now be early 2011.
