Visit our forums at www.e36-tech.com for more BMW 3 series assistance and discussion. Here is a 'before' video of my M3's S50 engine before installing the prototype Beisan System's VANOS anti-rattle bearing device. Notice there is some chain noise as you rev the engine, and the lack of an obvious "up-step" from the VANOS unit. Admittedly my VANOS unti was not in the worst condition, though you could tell that it was not working at its full potential. Yes, im working on the valve tick :p

  • @misiek0104 I heard it correctly the first time, as I stated in the first post.

  • @DrMotorDude He also said "...that's NOT what we are here for today." Anyway thanks for good advise :)

  • @misiek0104 You need to replay and turn on the sound....the man recording this states verbally, "You'll notice some valve tick..." I know the difference, I've built and blueprinted many of these engines.

  • @DrMotorDude that is vanos not valve lifters as U think!!

  • Believe it or not, the valve tick (not VANOS) can be quieted by using Mobil 1, fully synthetic 5W-40 turbo diesel oil. It is very high detergent and rated for gasoline engines, in addition to diesel. (For S52 engines in M3 - use 5W-50)
