Clip from this very rare TV Movie based on actual events.

IMDB trivia: "The administration at the real Kent State University would not allow the movie to be filmed on their campus. Gadsden State Junior College in Alabama was chosen because of its remarkable similarity (at the time) to Kent State University."

This movie is great. It starts of slow but builds up tension and action leading to a memorable tragic finish.

  • i think this movie was introduced in Hungary in the 1980's. The music i could hear there was really good. As I remember during the movie there was always music, some hippie stuff but really cool. Crosby , Nash, Young too

  • @madtvlover2007 where can i get a copy ?

  • I've heard of this movie, but I've never seen it before.

  • We're watching this in Social Studies, so far it's good.

  • Heh, I was in the room during filming of the first scene in this clip. I've never seen the movie, though I did "extra" work the entire time the production was in Alabama. They did do a great job of decorationg the campus to look like KSU. Anyone who does want to see it can find a copy on Amazon for around $65. Guess I won't see it soon.

The movie was filmed on the Gadsden State College campus back in 1981...it looked an awful lot like Kent State.....which by the way, Kent State would not allow the movie to be filmed on its campus.

  • I attended Kent State and actually work there on campus now. I didn't know a TV movie about May 4th even existed! Where did you find this clip? I'd like to check out the entire film.

Judging from the brief outdoors scenes, it looks like they did a decent job of replicating the Commons/Taylor Hall area where the protests took place.
