2011, for me it is the year of the new bicycle. I think the last new bicycle I owned was a rad Diamond Back freestyle bike with mag wheels, front and rear pegs, and a frame purpose-welded for framestands. Oh yeah.
I'm a commuter now and rather than doing hardcore tricks I ride through hardcore weather. I've been looking for the perfect commuter bicycle that I could use everyday to haul my ass to work as well as haul out the recycling. Then on the weekend when I want to ride and camp out along 16 Mile Creek with the fools from The Bozeman Fix I wanted the right ride for that too.
Surly decided to drop their new Troll frame last fall and I started drooling. I put my hard-earned pennies together and sourced a parts list that most any cycle commuter nerd would drool over including an 8 speed internal hub and a dynamo front with mega, rad, awesome, badass front and rear lights.
I present, the 2011 Surly Troll from the ground up in time lapse form. Mechanics shown are Casey, Mike, and Sam. Thanks to Mason as well as Bangtail Bikes for their help even though they don't appear in the vid.
Nice, how does your Troll ride?

@mudtoa I've only got a dozen miles on it so far (all of them in an inch of snow with Schwalbe Ice Spiker studs) and it rides super nice. The Surly Open Bars are a great addition to this bike's comfort.
