Is that a taylor x10ce? Are dreadnoughts very good for fingerstyle? I've heard they're better for strumming.

this is a great technique to learn if your into any kind of acoustic guitar the first song i learned was windy and warm i really want to learn to improvise with this style.

You are a fantastic teacher. This contains valuable information for beginners, and I agree the technique takes years to master. I know people how play professionally and have played for 20 years that still cannot master the boom chic nor play freight train. It is a lot more difficult than it sounds.
It's a Taylor 910, their upscale rosewood/spruce dreadnaught. Dreadnaughts were designed for volume & projection, so they're great for strumming. I use it for volume
at my workshops, but also use smaller bodies for fingerpicking - wood type makes a big difference too. Thanks for watching. Denny
