"A more or less standardized version of the old folk song, 'Gambler's Blues.'" From the album (released in 1959), "The Dixieland Story" Vol. 1. Produced by Lou Busch. Originally released as a two-record boxed set in 1958.
(Matty Matlock, Clarinet; Stan Wrightsman, Piano; Nick Fatool, Drums; George Van Eps, Guitar; Morty Corb, Bass; John Best and Shorty Sherock, Trumpets; Moe Shneider and Abe Lincoln, Trombones; and the great sax star, Eddie Miller, on Baritone.)
Impressing assembly of jazz stars, some of which are my absolute favorites, and Matlock's solo is wonderful, but the horrible arrangement kills this tune.
