This is one of the videos that I produced for Spinearth.tv: a report about a concert of the Polish singer Maria Peszek, in Warsaw on October 17th 2008.
Unfortunately the website Spinearth.tv is currently (October 2010) not online and therefore my videos are not available anymore. This is why I publish them again here, at YouTube.

Maria Peszek's in town

A Maria Peszek concert is an experience in which the spectator's emotions are dismantled, shaken and reconstructed into utter joy. This happens because she is very passionate, and she is able to transmit this to her audience without any apparent filter, directly through her music.
During her concert on October 17th at Palladium Club in Warsaw she performed songs off her latest album Maria Awaria, arousing enthusiasm within the audience with a well-balanced mix of alternative-rock music, brilliant lyrics and a great stage presence. The liveliness she expresses is a blend of intelligence, sensuality and irony.
Peszek's energy breaks the walls of conformism, which tried to censure some of her lyrics when she performed on Polish public TV. Yes, Maria Peszek talks about sex quite explicitly, but she is able to find that balance between being completely perverted and expressing this sexual urge in an unusual -- and somehow intellectual -- way.
Surely, a topic like "artic erections" is quite uncommon however this is what makes her an original artist. Her audience are not fans of commercial music, and while her album may be at the top of the charts, Peszek's music is always falls under the "alternative" genre.
Therefore, it is not a coincidence that the cover of her latest CD depicts her as a warrior with an Indian Chief feather hat. As she explained recently, "Maria Awaria is my warrior name. Hence the head-dress. I'm scared of music-making, I need a source of courage."
