Untamed Virginia Start

This is just the start of a brutal portage at the beginning of Untamed Virginia 2008.

The modified staggered start had one team start every minute for 15 minutes followed by a mass start for the remaining teams all based on Fridays prologue results. Racers started with a 1.5 mile portage from the farm down to the James River collecting a couple of checkpoints along the way and then jumped in for a long paddle in the heat of the day.
