nothing realy symbolic about the scarf. it was just a helpful gesture by the young girl. this dress can be wore without covering the head. maurish women are very independant unlike many muslim women. They do enjoy great deal of power within their social setting. There are self made merchand,intellectual or politicians amoung them. moorish men are also attracted to independant women for some reason. so this is not a case of stereotypical muslim women.moorish women status is very complex..
