PAPERPLANE by Brian Juntara Shine

my Final Project from Photo26A@PCC Cinema Program.

So basically we have to convey the story by following the guideline of the traditional Hollywood Linear Structure. Which contains 3Acts and Dramatic Arch.

Restrictions Applied! :
1. No Dialogue,(well 4lines allow but without dialogue I will get 1pt extra credit :D )
2. No Effects of any sort, 2Dissolves allow, 1 fade in and 1 fade out.
3. 3Minutes minimum, 4 maximum
4. HARD CUT ONLY!
5. Music allow, but NO LYRIC, 2 Songs Minimum.

A little something something about the film.

This is a film base on true potential event that could occur to everyone, and yes it could happen to YOU.

Title : Paperplane.

Its a story about Robert who dreams that he want to be a bassist and tour around the world, but the older he gets, the more he distances away from his dream and starts to pursue money.

Little that he knows money start to take toll on his life, and he becomes a workaholic, forgets to pay attention to what most important to him, which is his family, his wife, his daughter, and his dream.

As years goes by, his family start to falling apart, his wife loses interest in him completely, his adopted daughter doesnt care much either about her father or mother. His boss and coworkers take advantage of him every now and then.

One day after overloads his system tries to get the overtime work he brought from work to finish at home, he wakes up late and rushes to work. When he gets there his boss already have someone pack his stuffs up.

After a long day, he drives home, discovers that his adopted daughter is pregnant and she leaves the house, argues with his wife big time, his wife has had it with him, she leaves him. All the flashback of him throw away his dream and his regret start to attack him, plus the incident about his family, his boss, he snaps.

Present time: Robert walks around try to get some change to buy something to eat, when he meets up with Brian who accidentally finds his paper plane he throws away years ago. Brian hands his paper plane, his dream back to him. He cries and make a decision to starts from the beginning again.

Idea & Concept behind it:

Well basically I just try to convey the idea that "Money can't buy you everything" and "Just because you chose the wrong path doesnt mean that there is no hope lies in front of you"

Many times that we made a mistake and wish that we can go back in that moment and fix it, but instead of regretting it why dont we just try to live this moment and try not to make the same mistake again? turn the disaster into the opportunity!

BOTTOM LINE: I hope you guys have fun and enjoy this film.
