  • Jack, this is remarkable. You have a fine instrument and a solid technical foundation. I look forward to following your progress. Best wishes. Where are you studying.

  • Very good... I hear many promises in this voice. I will be listening :)

  • 19? This is strong singing for someone in their mid-20s, especially after the polishing Ms. Horne did. Congratulations!

  • What promise you have! I would love to hear you concentrate on being on the appoggio in the middle voice? You get stuck and drop where you need support, motion and height. Good luck to you.

  • quite nice. keep up your studying. BARBER will always be an audience favorite, and if the role is in your repertoire you'll have a calling card. Terrific that you sang for Ms. Horne. Her association with Rockwell Blake (which I hear shades of your voice resembling !) makes her an ideal Rossian teacher. Best wishes Jack!

  • Mr. Swanson -- you have the makings of a fine Mozartian singer. Keep working and learning.

  • @Swany243 Swany you have a beautiful instrument, but you have a lot of work still to do with it and you need to be extremely careful how you use it. You are covering your notes well, but you need to work at your breath support and allow the voice to sit on TOP of the breath and float there. You also need to learn to bounce your diaphragm that your agility works from there and not in your throat where you end up kind of strangling yourself. I wish you JOY and success in your career. Toi toi toi.

  • I imagine it was exciting to sing for Marylin Horne. And not easy, so I imagine nerves were also a factor.

Careful with focus of some sounds. And the line. It is a devilishly difficult piece.

When you go up be sure to place the note and be careful of the slidings up and down.Another key feature that will develop also with time is more singing on breath.

Ypu have a fine material, tae care of it and develop it wisely.

  • very well done - you are a bit young for singing this I would say, nonetheless well done. I am however surprised that she doesn't comment on the difton at 4:30 "e poi"
