I think Sam probably got tired of waiting for Anne to make up her mind. She's been denying that they were ever together. Last June, Sam pretty much admitted that they were exclusively dating & she didn't deny it. Obviously, Sam has sincere feelings for her since he faithfully courted her for almost 2 years. Any guy would've turned to another girl. I think if she decides to be in a relationship with him & not be ashamed to admit it, Sam would be with her. Any girl would be blessed to have Sam.
