Yes it's true a ukulele is much easier to START than guitar is, but once you get past the basics it can be just as challenging and demanding. The reason people think it's so easy is because they learn three chords and think they've mastered the thing.

For the record, here are some instruments simpler than her ukelele: violin, cello, viola and double bass (4 strings, straight simple 5ths or 4ths tuning--thus less complicated--and generally only two strings at a time).
