I have to say, this amv sits in the tops of my ten fav's now. I was an eighties baby and love Robotech & have grown to love Macross, one of the best sci-fi saga's ever. This vid is perfect, lines up with the song and rythym so well. Heh, this song just kinda grabs me, loves the beat and the songs meaning, thanx Silbertil if your the one that tossed this together, hope to see more from ya.

Poor Minmay but I love her. She's my favourite and I'm glad that she has been listed one of the most memorable characters in anime. This is Macross. Not Robotech. I have no clue what happens to the Rick of the Japanese Macross series, I know his friend Max gets divorced from his wife (Miriya) and goes out into outer space again. The american version of this anime, Robotech, has most of the people that survived season one go.

@bgeq NO need to tell me,,,, I knew it from when I first started to get into the show...which was about 9 years later from its release in the US... XD Still I knew what the original title was/is... I still revere Carl Macek and Jack McKinney for making Macross as it is in Robotech..Even though I honor the original Macross more. If it wasn't for Jack and Carl, we wouldn't have the great 80s explosion going for what/how anime is popular here today in the US and around the world.. RIP Carl.

A big thumbs up... Probably one of the romantic Sci fi anime AMVs I have seen so far. Macross can still kick it old school badass in these times as well.

Flashback 2012 has a lot of footage reused from the original SDF Macross TV series, so there is a bit of footage overlap. 2:07 for instance does have one scene that is from ep2 if you will, where Hikaru rescues Minmei, but it was reused in FB2012.
So yes, you can try to nitpick out one or two scenes that could be found in Robotech, but they were not sourced from Robotech - they were sourced from Flashback 2012.
