The music track playing in one of (if not all) the trailers for War of the Worlds is not part of the actual official soundtrack. Indeed, the music of the trailer was most likely simply chosen due to the emotions it invokes or for any particular reason, the track in question that you may be referring to is named Gothic Power, if I am not mistaken it was composed by Christopher Field.

To answer you vidoman12, I found the picture at 3:01, along with most others from various sources on the Internet after a simple search on Google, however some of the pictures are stills I've taken myself from the movie and edited them to some extent to fit the resolution of the video.

In my opion, in the modern world, a film isn't good unless it either has John Williams music, or Stevens directing it. So really, this film is the best we could do, do slam it, Its getting remade again in a few years any way.
