I found a strange object outside the level sand trap and need your help in figureing out what it is.

it looks like a spawn box for npcs like antlions or whatever. so they spawn in there so theyre ready to come out when you step on the sand.

have you ever seen a material outside of a map where its like yellow paper and it says warden backwards? or in this map gm_lair something I call a combustion engine?

if u look closely there is a white grid all the beta stuff was orange with a white grid

you have to put an extra box with the prop you want to clone into the map (e.g. in portal is a box with a cube) and this may contains every OBJECT (not NPC) you want to spawn. An NPC gets spawned by a NPC-Spawner, which could spawn everything that has his own AI (except GLaDOS, because its just a Modell). Other NPCs like Combines or Zombies have a defined point, where they spawn and contain just a point, no AI! This is caused by choreographed scene.
