American Samoa community College Choir, 2009. A beautiful song composed by Dr Paul Pouesi and dedicated to the victims of the September 29, 2009 Tsunami and their families.
Speech delivered by the Representative from the ASCC prior to the Choir performance,
Quote:
"Dr Paul Pouesi composed yet another new song for our Christmas Program. However, this came about because of some unfortunate circumstance. The composer was deeply touched by the newspaper story of a mother who held her daughter's hand as the Tsunami hit. And then the force of the wave swept the daughter away. Being moved to tears Dr Pouesi composed this next song.
The frantic Cry for Help still rings in our ears:
"Mommy, Help Me Please! Help Me Please!"
Oh, there are times in our lives when we feel the same desperation and we cry, we cry out for Help.
To all who are present here tonight and who are watching the proceedings of these festivities by way of television broadcast, we remind you that there is Hope!
Yes, there is Hope in the saving hands of our Redeemer and the Savior Himself. He stands ready to render His Help if we only but ask Him.
As the composer moved and inspired to write:
'Hold on my child, your Savior is there!"
So, tonight to you Vai Theresa Fitiao, and the many who have lost their lives in this unfortunate devastation, we dedicate this song to you and to your families who are left behind.
The choir will sing: "Christmas is here again"
End of Quote
After 13yrs with the ASCC Christmas choir, this was the last Christmas my dearest beloved wife Lulu Ah Mu-Pouesi spent with us. 12/25/10 she was @ UCLA medical center - 1/ 30/11, she went to Heaven. She wrote the words for this song. This is her first Christmas with Jesus Christ in Heaven. I believe she's singing with the angels and smiling at our Christmas choir singing "Christmas in Heaven" ...I thank God for Lulu and she will always be remembered...love you honey forever!
