  • ok. thank you for this video, very informative. i do have a question though. When does the cycle end? thank you.

  • @thinpolice

    Never :-D

  • When you are given a gift for whatever reason do you send a thank you note after ?

    Thanks

  • @silentfades

Usually you will give them a gift in return..

it is a hard cycle to escape..

  • So, also, if someone picks me up from the train, do I just casually hand them the package when we meet? And then hand out gifts to my homestay? (They're different people) or will I seem willy nilly with gifts? Haha

  • @Mooyouhooka

    Yes.

I am sure that will be OK ^_^

  • @cheyennebritbrat its groudge

  • What do they say that you said as "this gift isn't good enough for you"? I've heard つまらないものですが, is that what you're talking about?

  • Woodpecker in the car?

  • Your videos have been very informative, and very helpful, just sayin a little thanks, even though a few of them have started to put me off moving there :(, i just need someone to tell me all that hardship is worth it xD

  • What if you're not very good at wrapping? Is it acceptable to place the gift in a really nice gift bag with something like tissue paper?

  • is there a woodpecker in your car?

  • This gift is honourable! The emperor would be pleased with You!

  • What about price tags? I've always grown up being told to hide the price tag/sticker somehow, although it's okay to leave something in the packaging. Is it the same in Japan, or is the price tag okay?

  • The gift you are giving or receiving isn't as important as to who is giving it to you.

  • so if someone gives you food or cookies or something and say 'ah, no, it's probably not very tastey...' what do you say? 'I'm sure it's good'? or like 'I have a stomach of steel, I like all food'? lol. if I gave food to someone if they said that they were sure it'd taste good, I probably feel more pressured. lol
