ILO TV interviews Marlee Matlin, Oscar winning actress, author and advocate.

Each year, World Day for Social Justice draws global attention to efforts to eradicate poverty and promote social well-being, equality and full and decent employment. In 2010 this search for a "society for all" faces severe challenges brought on by the global economic and jobs crises, resurging poverty and long-term social uncertainty.

Against this backdrop, the ILO has launched a year-long Voices on Social Justice Campaign to provide a global platform for perspectives on what social justice means today and how it might be achieved in the years to come.

  • @Listen2Colors Ignorant people like yourself are annoying. Jack Jason, the male voice you hear, has been Marlee's interpreter and friend for ever two decades. Marlee can voice for herself and sometimes she chooses to do so but a good interpreter like Mr. Jason has to be able to convey the message in a way that represents the Deaf individual regardless of gender. Mr. Jason is an inspiration to all interpreters and Marlee blesses us all with her spirit. By the way, what's a porn "start?"

  • Amazing person, for what u stand for and for what u do about it :)

  • Well, I always knew you were liberal but I have liberal friends and I can get over that but I didn't know you were a socialist. Its weird to think that I want to advance myself to the Deaf Community from someone who I completely disagree with. I still respect you and I wish people knew how to react to people with disabilities, I'm still working on acting normal myself, but it's lack of education, not that rights have been taken away from anybody. Not everyone can be in the same boat and that's

  • She needs a strong male voice since she is a powerful women . Its enforces that . Its who she is comfortable with. JACK gets the true words out and don't make what he wants . He shows people that people that are hearing can be friends , work FOR , support the deaf community . They both should be proud

  • Everyone should learn about United Nations Agenda 21. "Social Justice" and redistribution of wealth sounds cool to American liberals. Wait until they find that their money is not being redistributed in America, but to other countries. Is that really what they want? I don't think so. Remember the blacks waiting in line for their "Obama money?" They really thought redistribution of wealth was coming to them. People on welfare in America are richer than many people in 3rd world countries.

  • question is she deaf.

  • verdad

  • It's really annoying that she has a men doing her voice. She should hire a porn start.
