Originally released in November 1940. Ben Hardaway was responsible for the original incarnation of Bugs Bunny at Leon Schlesinger's studio [he directed two "prototype" cartoons, "Porky's Hare Hunt" (1938) and "Hare-um Scare-um" (1939)]. After Hardaway left Schleinger in January 1940, he became a key writer at the Lantz studio, and co-wrote this one {officially an "Andy Panda" cartoon, but the nutty woodpecker got so much attention, Lantz quickly created a "Woody" series for 1941}.
Well this cartoon is from the Mel Blanc days(who also did the voice for Daffy Duck and bugs Bunny) It's pretty clear. Good I love these old classics! Much better than all these new crap on Cartoon Network.
Wrong... this episode is from Andy Panda (1940), but it is the first one in which the woodpecker shows up. His first episode "solo" is "Woody Woodpecker" (1941).
Woody is the biggest troll lol
