Nearby siren starts at 0:25, distant ones are heard from the beginning. Not much too see in the video, but the siren is located right above the house that is shown in the video. There was a tornado warning issued for Kalamazoo County, MI tonight. The bulk of the storm went north of my house, so I decided to try and catch the sirens going off. Mainly there are 2001s throughout the county, with some model 5s at fire stations and a couple Thunderbolts on factories. Unfortunately, the t-bolts didnt sound as far as I can tell. The siren you hear is a 2001-SRN. It is located about a block from my house, and it nearly knocked me over standing out in the middle of the street. It ran for about 4-5 minutes, then it stopped for 5 minutes, then ran another 5 minutes.

  • Those 2001- srn's are no joke! I live very close to one.

  • Nice video there is a video of a close 2001 being activated in my city of Minneapolis MN but you could hear distant 4/5 Port Thunderbolt 1000Ts going first

  • Sounds like it was a fun night for the southern part of Michigan!

  • The Kalamazoo Tornado sirens are triggered remotely individually by a DTMF sequence transmitted over a radio. It takes a bit of time to transmit all the DTMF sequences.

  • thsy eoulf do annnoying lol
