I was born in '52, grew up in Inglewood, these pictures make me want to cry. Inglewood and the entire section of LA from Inglewood down Hawthrorne Blvd to Palos Verdes was a very special place to grow up in the 50's and 60's.
Now it's a crime ridden shit hole and it looks like Mexco....or Africa.

Well, yeah, true that. It's amazing seeing some of these places and how they used to be nonetheless. The high school, the swap meet, and market street.... so many memories :)

WOW!! Boy does this bring back memories. I grew up in Inglewood until 19977 when I joined the Army and pretty much never went back, because my folks moved to Oregon. WOW The Century Drive in, I remember when the Forum was being built, my sister used to work at that Sears, The fox and UA theaters, Huck Finn days at Hollywood park, Tops burgers. Truly the good old days

Thanks for the visuals jerrymiles. Wichstand, 5th Ave theater, Century drive-in, great. Would have been nice to see Scots and Scrivner's "the hole" too. Morningside Park was American Graffiti. That might have been me in the black 57 Bel Air @ 2:50. Morningside - class of 58. Great job.
The last one might not be pre-1980s. I grew up around that area and that building behind the Farmer's Restaurant didn't become a Burger King until I was a little tyke. And I was born in '91, so it's probably from 95 or so :P

Oh well, sometimes boo boo's are made. At least Farmers was there long before that so it can still invoke memories.
