This is a great example of why it is important to clean your computer, and keep it out of dust and dirt.

Removing dust and dirt from the inside of your computer is critical to make sure it lasts you a long time, and doesn't have any random strange issues.

In this case you can see the customer let it build up to the point that it clogged the CPU heat sink, thus it was causing it to run slow and the fan was always on at full speed. If allowed to continue like that the CPU fan would have failed and/or the system would have become so hot the CPU would have have a melt down.

  • i use airduster to clean. 100x better than a vaxxume.

  • @Xeonophon Use the airduster with the vacuum and you'll find that you don't get dust everywhere outside of the computer when you do it.

  • @xMasterJuiceX If you smoke in the same room with the computer even when off, you should really clean it more often then 4 times a year. Perhaps once a month or so.

  • how often should i be spraying out my computer? keep in mind i sometimes smoke in the same room when the computers off.

  • um...you realize that vaccum cleaners make static eletricity and computer parts can be fried by eletrostatic discharge (ESD). thats why i use an air compressor.

  • Looks like you need a duster can from Dust-Off!

  • guys search for: Metro Vacuum ED500 DataVac in amazon or anywhere you shop. It's THE best cleaning vacuum for computers.

  • @birdFluOwnes it is static! please tell me that you havent used it?

  • are you sure its okay to use a vacuum?

wont mess anything up or anything. i hear it can static it?

  • @DefconComputers A vacuum could create a static charge and fuckup your computer, dont use one.

  • My old systemax aol optimized computer i got from the flea market was just like this except...it was alot worse. you couldent even see the fins on the heatsink and the fan motor was clogged with dust as well...underneat of the black cover where the magnetic coils are the it was grinding. thats how i knew there was something wrong. anyway the white plastic that the cpu goes into is a little melted and deformed now so i dont think i can take the cpu out now if i needed to because it might not fit.
