Please read the description!!!
(please watch in HQ)
This sounds better with headphones, by the way

This is a vocal cover... well... I'm not really sure if I should call it a cover O.o
This is me singing my arrangement of Tres Cantos Nativos Dos Indios Krao
(yep all the voices are me)

It has been thunderstorming non-stop here since school ended... and especially on the day we lost power, this song has been ingrained in my mind.... In fact, it was thunderstorming the whole time I was recording this

I sang it (as a Soprano II) in my school choir this year, and I had a sudden urge to sing it...
I knew that I had forgotten a couple of the parts and such... and I couldn't find any sheet music online or a version done by a treble choir where I could clearly hear all of the parts...but I figured that it's not intended to be a choir-y perfect song, but rather more tribal and free... so I didn't let it bother me that much... heheh... so that's why, if you know the song at the tioire moarete te part, I just sing the soprano II part even though it's not the melody O.o
Pretty much the entire second song I had no idea what I was doing because I never learned the melody... so I just sang what I remembered hearing O.o
But, all things considering, I don't think that this came out that bad ....
Please don't eat me if you know this song! and please forgive the mistakes and such...
(I also slowed the tempo in some places so that it would be easier to sing)

I was going to add percusion... but I thought it would be kind of neat to to an entirely vocal song...
The wind in the beginning was me using my inability to whistle ^.^
and the sound after aa-aam is created by "sucking air through closed teeth" (I remember that from the version we used in my choir)
The only sound that doesn't come from me is the thunder, which was taken from FFX-2 (before 1000 words)

I know that this song is a little odd for me to do, because I usually cover video game music, but I was really in the mood to sing it...
Please feel free to tell me what you think

Surprisingly, though now I am doubting the recording as I always do O.o this was very fun to sing

(next I'm planning on re-doing eyes on me ^.^)

EDIT: ack... I remember one of the parts now... I forgot the soprano II and I "Uarite Uarite Uaritete" part in the second song... my layering of "e-a" was me remembering that the Uarite made it louder and deeper there O.o

  • Any chance you know where to get sheet music for this piece? I desperately want to do it with my choir.

  • @askjeeves0071 Unfortunately I don't... I didn't have the sheet music when I made this. It was by ear.

  • This is a beautiful arrangement! You are really good :D My ensemble at my school called Encore, is singing this for Districts. One thing I would recommend, is that you should sing with a more fuller sound. Don't forget to RAISE YOUR SOFT PALETTE!! It will provide a richer and more "woman-like" sound.

You have a wonderful voice, let us hear it!!

I hope your continuing in your Choral studies, Ernesto from Boca Raton, Florida.

  • @titovgro Thank you for your feedback ^___^

  • Venho externar que esses cantos não são dos índios Krahô.. da onde tiraram isso??

  • Beautifully pure sounding voice! I am in awe :)

(I am an alto, lol. I sing low and big, I can't sound like that.)

    ;)

  • I've been in choir all my life and I know all the rules and techniques. But what many choir kids fail to realize is that there are other styles, genres, and techniques. I actually like this sound; it's naked, it's raw, and it's pure.

And another thing: this is a tribal piece; it's not supposed to sound proper.

  • @otacon7522 wow that's amazing :) but don't worry i found the sheet music on sheetmusic plus

  • @titovgro Yes, it does help. thanks

  • @fluterific00

It actually doesnt mean anything...the lyrics are just whats called phonems, which is just basically meaningless sounds, though each phonem is linked to the tribe or area that commonly sang them :] I hope this helped?
