I DO think that her performance seems to have been informed somewhat by Kristin Chenoweth's, which is NO CRITICISM AT ALL. There is only so much that one can do to play this differently, and singers who abandon the humorous choreography to concentrate strictly on singing are taking something away from the characterization (IMHO).
I have to give props to any singer who performs this, for "Glitter And Be Gay" requires a vocal agility that I do NOT have and never did.

I like her! She soooo funny!
She isn't copying Kristin, the use of the jewel box is a part of the musical's plot. Bernstein intended this song to be a parody of the famous jewel songs from French Opera. The use of the jewel box and humor relating to it was intended by the writers. Barbara Cook used a jewel box with comedic effect in the original production.

actually, i am on Broadway in new york city, and i have no criticism for this fine performance , Kristen Chenoweth, (one good friend of mine), Actually got her choreography from Joseph Steiner, so There was no interpretation. Just for your slight information!, Fabulous job!
