@charlesmustang You forget that Hannibal's mother was from Iberia, so she was probably Celtic. His father was Hamilcar who founded a Carthage dynasty in Spain. I don't think he was black, because I don't think his father or his people were black. Phoenicians look nothing like dark Africans from zimbabwe, the only dark Africanss by Carthage were Numidians, who are clearly distinguished and were their rivals in west north africa.

@charlesmustang I'm not sure if that's entirely accurate or valid. If the DNA and genetic make up of Middle Easterners is African, then why don't they look black today, because of mixing? Drawings and sculptures of Ancient Persians, to me look the same as Iranians do today. Even Arabs in ancient times realized the need to stay homogenous and stay separate, as there own culture. Arabic and Semitic might be Afro tongues, but Persian, turkic, Kurdish, Indian, and Armenian are not.

@metalthrashin666 I mean come on lets be clear, Whites are genetically recessive. Meaning if they procreate with a person of color (Black, Indian, Hispanic etc.) their genetic makeup will be overwritten more often than not. Hannibal was therefore most likely Black with African features to match. I know you don't believe that Roman model could possibly be accurate, when the man never set foot in Rome. So I believe that his features would have easily identified him as a black man.

@metalthrashin666 Well one thing is clear is that you dont understand pedagogy involved with peoples of African decent. I bet you would be shocked to find that the majority of Middle Eastern people are descendants of (guess what) African people! See the issue within genealogical studies is that the varied classifications i.e. Arab, Persian etc. often disregards this fact. Did you know that Arabic is derived from an African Language system, only its grammatical structure is different.

But you are trying to generalize saying they are all descendents of Black men.  Are you aware that Egypt borders the middle east too? and that peoples from that region have settled there long ago as well?

@metalthrashin666 Egyptians are black, this is how ignorant people have tried to discredit black (African) culture. Egyptians did vary in complexion but to try and separate them from the vain of other empires such as those that existed in Zimbabwe and Ghana is ignorant. They are African's just like any other nation meaning that they are descendants of people of color (black)! Their is no ambiguity when it comes down to that and shouldn't be treated as such!
