The sound in the background is the alarm to warn people not to cross the runway. Several streets run through the runway and it also doubles as a sports field as it's a small island.

Taiririko What's an ATR42? I wonder if I flew in one back in 1973?

The first time I ever set foot in an aircraft was in an ATR-42. That was when Air Pacific flew them on domestic routes in the 80s.
I imagine Pacific Sun is now a new subsidiary of AP?

Yes they are. They fly the route from Fiji to Tuvalu as a codeshare agreement.
