@britty231 Or in many cases, pigs go cannibal and eat the tails off themselves, get infections from close contact and lack of hygience and never get to "frolic", "explore" or show those awesome signs of "piggery" you would see if you had pigs in pasture - not intensive conditions
-
@workbootcollective lmao....did you ever say this to a butcher or anyone who has come into contact with an abbatoir/slaughterhouse before? They would laugh at you.
Having said that, you are talking about reducing stress before slaughter - something already taken into consideration with factory farms - because efficiency is important for profit you know!
Look up some of...shit, forgot her name, just look into the farms welfare concerns if you can, you will see some interesting developments
-
@ewillett07 lmao...okay but confining them like that for their lifetime, whatever period that may be...is fine...and keeping the other pigs like that...totally fine....
Theres more than just concern for piglets when it comes to intensive farming. Obviously you need to edu-ma-cate urself more :D

@RedAntBlackAnt Clearly you never heard this "I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals."
:D pigs are amazing, they deserve way better!

Was the pig ever very nice to another man? It seems like it may have been a very nice pig, swine, as maybe it would occasionally give gifts to nurses or make appropriate phone calls on his best friend's birthday, or maybe the pig let an old woman have his seat on the bus one day, or maybe been very nice to others? If so, the pig was some sort of local hero who gave clothes to local starving children? The pig may have been nice even to one man, or woman, maybe by lighting a candle?

its safer for the mother and piglets, as its in a pigs nature to lay on and eat its young get educated!!!!

Do they ever pet the animals before hurting them severely? They could have a room where the animals are petted nicely maybe...Then after the severe hurting maybe they could pet them again, but maybe just pet around where the blood might be...or they could put a tube in there to take away the blood during the severe hurting. Then they could even pet them longer, or maybe pet them even where some of the red blood may be.

@mikechecka1212 Get the facts. You know nothing. When I say nothing...It means Not a Damn Thing.

The sows. They love it. They love being inside in the heat. Some people blow it way out of proportion. People who have no idea about the job.

DIE MOTHERFUCKERS !
FREEDOM FOR ANIMALS!
JUST BUILD KZs FOR THESE MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!!!!!
Tail docking can be avoided if pigs are given environmental enrichment such as more space and straw, so they are able to forage and therefore are much less likely to exhibit behaviour such as tail biting, which is a result of boredom and a frustration of foraging behaviour. Also, most British pigs are not castrated as they are killed younger so the boar taint issue is not necessarily true. Deaths of piglets where the mother is not in a farrowing crate need be no higher than those in a farrowing crate, where there is good management and the sows have been bred for their mothering ability. More information available on the Compassion in World Farming website (link in this video's information box, top right).
