My Little Goober Emerges!

OMG HE EMERGES.

This is Goober, I just got him a few days ago (last Thursday to be exact, November 18th).He was skittish when I first saw him at the pet store, but I didn't realize how bad it was until I got him home. My previous guinea pig, Mr. Wilson, was a bit older when we got him so he wasn't afraid of anything at all and was quite happy to be picked up. Goober.... well, not so much.

I'm spoiling him a lot at this point, trying to win his favor with carrots. So far it appears to be working, as he normally just cowers in his box until I go to sleep. Or if I turn around at my desk he'll zip back into his box. He's getting a lot better now. The fact that he comes out and popcorns while I am sitting here is amazing.
