Would a single car tire work just as well as those two motorcycle tyres?

Yes, a car tyre would work perfectly fine. I just happened to use 2 bike tyres someone had thrown away.

Even better, use a larger truck tyre if you have a big enough chopping block.

This is really aimed at a home user & the idea is to save your back by bending down & picking up logs repeatedly. I think you missed the point.

I wouldn't recommend someone selling logs commercially to split by hand.

Good idea. Ok if a single car tire works i wonder if a single truck tire works, Then i wonder about a tractor tire. What if the tire was hanging from a tree or buried in the ground. Could you duct tape around the logs instead? What if you don't have tires or have to pay are they still free? Haha i just had to throw some stupid obvious questions in there before someone seriously asks them.
