Manu Dibango was head of his time as far was music goes. Hits like" New Bell, Weya and Soul Makossa" his music still sound as fresh and great as it did when I first heard it in 1973.

I forgot all about this record then I happened upon it, saying is that the weya weya weya weya weya weyyyyyaaaaa we used to blast during the 70s after Soul Makossa. Then I played it! That's It! I thank you so much. :-)

@ledbelly011 I'm hearing it for the first time in 2011 and this is the funkiest music I've ever heard. I guess I heard 'Soul Makossa' second and third-hand through Michael Jackson and Will Smith, but like most things the original is the best.
