so what is the process in making the fuel?
thanks

what is HTPB ?
is it it the expoxy?
-
thats very usefull, thanks. and what dimentions do people use for the length of core diameter of nozzle? i can do black powder rockets but these are a whole new beast! where could i buy some HTPB (in the UK, or that ship here)

@jmontello1 i also have been using epoxy i get good results lots of chuffers though my epoxy % is much higher 19-22 % .not sure where to get htpb or graphite but ive had some success using anchoring cement very solid when dry and moldable

@psycodogincali thanks, I used EDM grade graphite. It gives very repeatable performance

nice!! what dimentions did you use? my composite rockets just explode! (partially detonate im sure, becuase its so loud and fuel is still left in the debris) I use 66 NH4NO3, 18 -250 # Al flake, 12 epoxy, 2% CuO.

@Vaslop2000 thanks, copper is a very powerful catalyst and is causing your burn rate exponent to be too high, use iron 3 oxide instead. I prefer atomized aluminum to flake in rocket fuels, I use 400 mesh. Try 82% AP, 2% Al and 16% HTPB. I got that mixture from a professional and it burns very stable on its own (much colder burn but similar performance). Try a Kn of 200. Buy HTPB, its cheaper and better than epoxy.
