This is my modified Linksys router. It has a heatsink and fan on the broadcom chip. A secondary fan for added air flow.

  • how do you crank the signal power? wrt160n

  • @JasonfromMinnesota Once you have DD-WRT installed, go to Wireless>Advance Settings. You will see a option that says TX Power. Higher that number until you get the range you want. I wouldn't go higher then 95.

  • So, did you crank the signal power all the way up?

  • @parahumanoid Yes, but only for a few minutes. I was told running the router at full transmit power would burn it out. No matter how many fans were installed.

  • @tonearaujo my mom want one ware can we buy a pre mod wrt rooter with usb she want to block ip from xbox live thear or a few bad apple trying ddos or network and my isp will not give us a new ip

so we will be stuck with the same ip for ever

  • @couldkill420 You can buy a pre modded WRT router from ebay. Or you can buy a compatible router and load the firmware yourself.

As far as your question about xbox live, im a little confused about what you are trying to do. What is it your trying to accomplish?
