often wondered what ritchies link to jackie lynton was ...and i just found the answer on the internt so here it is ...this is taken from a blackmore interview..JACKIE LYNTON
RC: Where does Jackie Lynton come into the picture? You have been associated with him in the past but nobody seems sure how.

RB: We were going to get a band together when I was about 19. When I used to work in a factory, they would play Jackie Lynton & the Teen Beats. That was about 1960 and he was great. Then I got to meet him in 1961/62, a very nice guy. In 1964 we tried to get a band together: we met Kim Fowley, who was doing P.J. Proby stuff, and he gave us some demos to learn. Jackie had the records and lost them by leaving them on the train, so we didn't do it. Typical! But Jackie can really make me crack up on stage. I love it when the band starts off a number and he comes on and goes "Hold it! What's the first word?" We'd tell him, and he'd go, "Oh yeah, sorry, sorry". The whole audience is crying with laughter, because you know it hasn't been worked out.

  • Jackie's the Guv'nor. The best lead singer / front man Savoy Brown ever had. Wish Kim Simmonds had recorded at least one more LP w/ Jackie besides the one and only "Jack The Toad".

  • I have been following JLB since the mid 80's via the boozers in and around Guildford (the royal in stoughton), Scratchers in Farncome and the bleak house in woking. The man is a legend. Yes he does the intro on the Status Quo Album, there is a photo of him on the inside cover of the LP. It will be a sad sad day when he turns it in. My favoutite JLB album was white line. Long live Hedgehog!!!

If that's not 100% accurate, it's pretty close.
