A song about love and letting go - hopefully the music will make you as pleasantly dizzy and mellow as the video We've shot for a tapestry of sound...For us, an unprecedented FIVE tracks...woohoo! Tyler plays a 2nd rhythm guitar track and lead, as well. Only the 2 rhythm guitar tracks were written, the other 3 tracks (vocals, lead and harp) are 1-take live improv. Hopefully it feels right...

The naked-version mp3 is up at our website on the music page, if this one is too "busy" for ya! www.bluesmamamusic.com (There's some other audio not here, as well!)

The butterfly has a been a symbol of transformation for thousands of years. The last symbol of the VidSlideShow is the Mayan Depiction of the "Galactic Butterfly". Even the ancient Mayans saw life as a series of cycles that begins over and over, ad infinitum.

Sometimes, we don't see the gifts in front of us. Sometimes we choose not to reach for heights for fear that we shall fall. "Butterflies in Jars" is about taking emotional risks - to love freely, without condition or containment; and to live adventurously, in the present moment. Life is a cycle that repeats endlessly...why not live a little? =o)

Harmony, Love, Joy and Abundance to us all...
Blues Mama =o)

OK, an answer to the question all ready posed three times: What does the line "I know that only the very foolish dream of catching falling stars" mean?

To answer that question: No, it doesn't mean, don't dream or reach for the stars - Its lyrical intent is this: Don't try to contain love, it is an energy akin to the stars =o)

  • Beautiful dizzy good! Love this sweet song and its meaning- so, so true. I never could put butterflies in jars, either. They were too free and amazing to contain, however, once I had a bunch of them land on me. That was magical, so my only tattoo is of a butterfly :) They always give me hope. Thank you for sharing such a great song and video with us. Blessings, xoxoxo, AiyLd

  • Just listened to this more carefully, it really is a wonderful song, well done to the singer, musicians and song writer.

  • Denise! I love butterflies.....I have had a cloth one since a child and have kept it in my car since......Love this song! Thanks!!

  • I hate to see captured butterflies. I believe all things in nature should be allowed to seek their own freedom.

    Peace!
