Promise Keepers Stand in the Gap - 3 Million Men in DC

On October 4, 1997 over 3 million Christian men descended on Washington DC for Stand in the Gap: A Sacred Assembly of Men, a day of personal repentance and prayer for our nation. The footage here was all shot as they prayed and sang and were inspired by incredible Christian speakers. I shot all but a few segments of this footage. The most impressive shot (one I did not shoot) is near the end of the video. It is an aerial view from above Lincoln Memorial looking down the Mall toward the Capitol. The mass of men, packed in like sardines, extends from this side of the Washington Monument to the Capitol and from the buildings and streets on each side. I am still emotional when I watch this footage...Evidence that GOD IS AT WORK in the men of our nation!

It looks like a good idea and great turn out, but didn't accomplish a thing based on the current situation. If these were true Christians prepared to oppose the evil in this country they would be "terrorists" now. Instead it looks like a bunch of mindless sheep who don't have a clue what is going on, out for a picnic in the park. I pray that these men will join together and realize that evil anti-Christian Israel First Zionists now control our government.

What an awesome time that was, i was only 17 years old at the time and it seems only yesterday when men across the country invaded our nations capital to pray for our country and be reconciled to God. God bless America!

I remember this like it was yesterday. As we all started praising, I remember turning to my brother, Mark and telling him "Take of your shoes! We stand on Holy ground!" THAT'S how close we felt to the presence of the LORD that day. What a day! WHAT A GOD WE SERVE!!

I was there to I was 27 now 41. I watched this and tears filled my eyes from the feelings coming back to me of that day. I long for a time that I can do something like that again. now that I am older i think i would be more ready for it. I did experience somethings from God there that will last me the rest of my life. What a powerful day! I was there with my church. I was only 25 years old and I am now almost 40. If I could put into words what this day in history meant to myself and my family I would be here typing all day. I am a new man because of God and His overwhelming power especially on that day. It will always remain a very special day to my family and I! I wish PK would do a follow up Stand In The Gap!! Can you imagine the testimonies you would here from other men from then till present day!!

I was there with friends from N.C.What happened to us men? Have we forgotten our promises to God? We can live every day in His glorious presence,as powerful as it was then.Let`s bring our lives back where we were then. Remember the fire in our souls?

What a Great day this was and I for one will never forget GODS PRESENCE in DC that day.!! People who think that we were mindless sheep in the park missed God's Blessings. Everyday is the Sabbath when you know Jesus.. and regardless of what day or where you Worship the King of Kings , he is happy to see his children praying and trying to make a difference in America. As we left DC on the trains we were all singing and the people that were not at the event were Blessed, and so were we.
