Well, to be honest, its probably not better then arma 2. And i am not saying it isnt. I would probably pick this over arma 2 because i like console games. This is by far the best console shooter, even if its no good compared to arma 2.

It's a Worms 3d meets Medal of Honor meets Dr. House.... I've seen this kind of game back in Zx Spectrum. And for the Arma 2 boys: how can you have a good time in a game with all those bugs?

If you are into a hardcore style simulator - ArmA2 is better.

ArmA2 has a LOT of bugs though. needs more patience and modding to get just right.

OF:DR is a more gentle introduction for people who are used to platform fps games.

The OF:DR engine I find a LOT smoother than ArmA2, and the optics are far superior (FLIR anyone?).

General control options and gameplay with ArmA are far superior - as is the multiplayer support.

Too bad this game never got as good as ArmA. I have to respect it's engine and the optimization. The Mission Editor wasn't that bad either.

@TheTakeo109 Its worth buying for console players but for PC you should choose Arma 2. I have both games and OFP2 doesnt even compare to arma 2's realism and looks.

@Friday9951 ARMA 2 doesn't have bugs anymore (patched up) and optics are way better in ARMA 2. You know that ARMA 2 has FLIR as well.

@richiespeedisback i hate how every one flames this game. they always compare it to arma 2. there is now way arma 2 will every be on a console. but this beats the shit out of cod

1)This is a great FPS game.

2)This is a rubbish flashpoint game.

1) User friendly, map editor (pc) which is easy to use, better voice acting, worth the money on pc (i got it for £18 on play . com), not bad graphics and good fun with friends.

2) Compared to OFP 1: Lack of vehicles ie PLANES, Dumbed down, less realistic, not mod-able (cant find one on the internet that changes anything), less customizable, map is less varied, less bots (OFP 2= 63 OFP 1= 180)

The best thing about this game is the kicking down of doors 0:24 and the setting up of the launchers 1:34. All the other stuff like thermal, laser sights and flashlights are now in ARMA 2 OA. The fact you can also fly planes in ARMA kind of does it for me.
