My take on "To Zanarkand" by Nobuo Uematsu. I wanted to experiment and challenge myself with this question: how do you make a piano arrangement of an already-piano song?

I reharmonized and divided up the original melody up quite a bit, plus some compositional touches, minor improv and a slight meter change towards the end... Hope you guys like it!

  • Lovely arrangement. Would love to watch your hands glide across the piano as you play it though, see some of that passion

  • @mugen35811 Thank you! And yet passion is so much easier when no one is watching, haha...

  • It's like what To Zanarkand would have been like had it have been rearranged for Piano Collections.

Seriously. It fits in THAT well, in the sense that it's familiar snippets of the old piece strewn about a completely new mix. It gives that perfect balance of old and new, which is what is so captivating about the Piano Collections pieces, and girl, did you NAIL it. Kudos once again. :D

  • @MisterVercetti I especially love that about the FFX Piano Collections and that's exactly what I aspire to do with all my covers. It means so, so much to hear that. Thank you <3

  • wow! at first all i saw was "ffx - zanarkand" and thought i was gonna be just another to zanarkand cover... but then i clicked and wasn't! awesome arrangement, it's definitely your piece but enough to zanarkand elements in it to be wonderfully familiar. also, you're really pretty.

  • @skylinefourfifteen Thank you so much... :]

  • @waltzforluma theoretically, no one is watching when you play and you record it ;)

  • This is beyond epic.

  • As much as I love all of your songs, this particular one I've been coming back to and listening to it at least once or twice a week since you uploaded it; whenever I feel down, nothing beats the feeling of putting on a pair of headphones, closing my eyes, and melting into the music.

    Thank you, Aivi.

  • chills everywhere!

  • I LOVE IT!

  • i lov how u arranged this u have true talent!!! ^_^

  • @RedX2k probably because KH takes aspects from Final Fantasy. And Tetsuya Nomura worked on both.

  • Love it, reminds me alot of Kingdom heart for some reason.

  • @waltzforluma "Those Who Insanely Love Books Say" <-- Good Song.

  • been slowly going through your catalogue of songs this evening haha. Love your work.
