Great material. Just spent an very enjoyable Saturday morning hour reliving ex-train spotter memories. My home station was Clapham Junction hence the Southampton clip was very memorable. Many thanks for posting.
oh my word, I remember being a very small boy in the transatlantic terminus, waiting with my Mum and brother for my Dad to come off a ship, and as we stood there a GIGANTIC steam engine arrived between us and the dockside. Perhaps our being at ground level made it look so huge, although my 3' 6" height probably contributed to the effect. Must have been around 1960 or so.
Fascinating scenes. I always like to see the 'fashions' on these byegone enthusiasts specials, but I particularly liked the dockyard scenes; historic not only because of the steam, but also the workings of pre container docks.
Great also to see the Queen Elizabeth; I think what happened to her was a tragedy and a disgrace.

I love the E2's, They really remind me of the world's favourite little engine, Such short and stumpy little engines if you catch my drift ;)
