@ricktech44 - Actually it's not to hard. You just attempt to description the taste with favors you already know. Also, you sort of know what it is going to taste like by the ingredients. Chocolate malt tastes like mocha, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate. Caramel malt taste like toffee or caramel. Each hop has a known character. I just taste the beer and see which of the qualities I taste. I pattern my tastings after Properhoptv. He's got a great palette.
