@tayrone2001 I think that after d6, gxf3 would be good for black. If dxc6 then fxg2, where white couldn't take with the king or Qxe4+ and black is winning.

Now we see why the KG is never played anymore at the highest levels. Fischer WAS the computer before there were computers!

From the 52th sec. on white takes on f4 with the bishop. what if he instead attacks the night with d6. wouldnt that be better than sacrificing a piece for 2 pawns as white?

Thank you so much for this analysis. Now the Kings Gambit is way more interesting to me, espacially for black. I thought there wouldnt be any real chess game after 2. f4, only stupid battles. But the complicated positions are interesting.
After this knowledge of yours, did u lose less as black in that opening, Sean?

I absolutely love fischers attitude.

hey. great vid! i was wondering if the same d6 refutation can be played against the bishop's gambit. any thoughts on that? thanks!

Well said!
Hi Sean
Very convincing! I’m hoping to end up on the black side of a Knights gambit tomorrow against an ecf 150 odd, in my club championship, just watching the videos ten times in an attempt to cram it all into my brain.

Another awesome video Sean.
I've had trouble getting into studying openings, but this video was fascinating. I'd definitely love to see more videos from you about opening theory in the future.
Thanks again for all your hard work.

Cool man, cool - I'll bear that in mind when deciding on a new series after the Corus Tournament! Glad you enjoyed it.

Brilliantly insightful and entertaining analysis. Fischer's reasoning is as cold and clinical as a steel blade, his coment on .... Bf6 is absolute precision. Yet I still side with the romantics.
BTW, didn't White get a classically swashbuckling win with it in a World Championship game in the 1990's ;-)

Hiya - glad you enjoyed it! I know what you mean about siding with the romantics, but at the same time it's hard to disagree with Fischer! I think we're suffering from the same Syndrome that afflicted Max Euwe. I'm not sure I know which win you mean in the World Championship game in the 1990's, could you be more specific!? Do you know which player it was?
