In a recent New England Journal of Medicine editorial, University of Minnesota infectious disease expert Michael Osterholm writes that despite a recent CDC report that claims foodborne illness is down in the past decade, cases of illness actually have not decreased. He also writes that new food-safety legislation does not have the funding to make an impact.
