Not me playing-history of the two
Solid Snake, real name David, is a product of the Les Enfants Terribles project and "son" of legendary soldier, Big Boss along with his "brothers" Liquid Snake and Solidus Snake. He is known as "the man who makes the impossible possible" and his exploits have made him into a living legend among the mili tary black-ops. Initially a Green Beret, Snake was later inducted into high-tech special forces unit FOXHOUND during the early 1990s while it was under the leadership of Big Boss. From there, Snake would thrice avert potential nuclear catastrophe and even slay his "father," Big Boss.

After the Shadow Moses Incident and subsequent manipulation campaign by the Patriots, the secret organization behind American politics, Snake became labeled a terrorist. He faked his own death in 2007 and proceeded into hiding, although he would later emerge in 2009 to assist Raiden in the Big Shell Incident. About five years later, his cells would enter an advanced stage of degeneration due to being a clone created from early cloning technology. His body began to age very rapidly, causing his health to decline. The extent of his rapid degeneration was predicted by Dr. Naomi Hunter, who estimates that he only has six months left to live.

Liquid Snake (commonly referred to as Liquid) is Solid Snake's twin brother and genetic duplicate, along with field commander of FOXHOUND and the Genome Soldiers. Along with Solid Snake and Solidus Snake, he is one of three "brothers" genetically engineered from cell samples taken from Big Boss in the Les Enfants Terribles project. Liquid Snake believes himself as being inferior to Solid Snake, as he was told that he was the recipient of all of Big Boss' "flawed" recessive genes. Because of this belief, Liquid holds a strong resentment towards Solid Snake, who supposedly inherited the better genetics, and wishes to defeat him in combat and reclaim his what he felt was his birthright, thus proving his superiority.

Liquid is over 183cm tall, has an IQ of 180 and speaks seven languages fluently. He is an exact duplicate of Solid Snake in terms of appearances, with the only distinguishable feature being his darker skin tone and hairstyle He also has a tattoo on his left arm, which resembles the Rod of Asclepius, but with a sword in its place.

Revolver Ocelot, real name Adamska (Russian: Адамска), and also known as ADAM, Shalashaska (Russian: Шалашаска), or simply Ocelot (Russian: Оцелот), was a former FOXHOUND operative and an agent of the Patriots. A master of interrogation and a formidable gunfighter who was often referred to as a "ricochet genius," Ocelot is best known as the man who was personally acquainted with all four members of the Snake family: serving as the right-hand man for both Liquid Snake and Solidus Snake, maintaining a friendly rivalry with Big Boss, and being a nemesis to Solid Snake. Ocelot specialized in infiltrations of a different nature than Solid Snake and Big Boss, often acting as a double agent, or even a triple agent, serving multiple interests in the same situation.

The MGS developers really understand the art of nostalgia.

they know their fan base and never forget where they got their start and i love them for it.

and i literally laughed for for like 5 minutes when the PS1 Shadow Moses mission came up and when fighting screaming mantis when i tried to switch the digital controller port to port 2 thinking that's what i was supposed to do and they called me out on it.

@manwiththemachinegun The cinematics are long for all the wrong reasons. Sometimes they drag on too long or interrupt gameplay. And no, its not 6-7 hours of gameplay. Its more 2-4 hours.

GOD this was annoying on The Boss Extreme. Especially when he yells "TAKE THIS!" on the second part of the fight.

More like 6-7 hours of gameplay and 10 of cinematics. Not to mention free multiplayer.

@xxLeksusxx I take it you have a PSP then? get MGS one off the PS3 store its only like 7£ (not sure how much that is in $) and if you like that get the HD collection when it comes out then if you own a PS3 get MGS4 the MGS backstory is one of the most complex of any game series if you really want to find out do this complete them all and for heavens sake man don't skip any cutscenes

I've only played Peace Walker, and seen someone play 1-4 of peace walker... Can anyone fill me in? Big boss and Old Snake are different, right? And who is Ocelot? And why are they beating eachother down like retards?
