  • I'm so pleased to read that the drill has really helped you. It's a very good idea to use the same method with longer golf clubs and the best way to reduce the fat shot effect is to shift your weight more aggressively to your front foot/leg. Complete your follow-through with your hips pointing left of your intended target. By doing this the golf club will achieve ball-turf contact and your shots will fly longer and straighter.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate your feedback.

  • Thank you for commenting I really appreciate it. I hope that this video golf lesson helps you to play better wedge shots. Good luck with it.

  • I'm really happy that you have discovered this little known aspect of the downswing. Every amateur golfer will improve significantly if they learn to control the direction of the handle end to control the direction of the head end. Thanks very much for your comments I always appreciate the feedback and good luck with your improvement.

  • Thanks for taking the time to develop these videos - all of them have been very helpful, especially the swing plane on chips/pitching. I've been struggling with this but finally I'm getting some success after watching your videos.

  • Fantastically helpful, thanks!

  • Lawrie, I had AMAZING success with this drill!! I went 10 for 10 from 105yds and all had spin and I was getting ball first contact and taking a divot. I was wondering if I could use this drill for all my clubs? I tried it with the 6 and 7 iron and I hit alot of shots dead straight but almost all of them were hit fat. Is there a way to still do the drill and not hit them fat? I would love to have the same success with my other clubs!! I cannot thank you enough.

  • Good stuff...Thanks Lawrie.
