Saving money to buy a house

If I had started saving $80 a month ten years ago I would have $9,600 to put down on a house, but no I wanted to watch cable TV. I can watch TV for free!

By the way I'm only 24 and I just bought my first home by myself. You can do it, u just have to do lots of research. There is a lot of help out there u just have to find it.

I think that is a great move on your part. Wish more of America would do the same.

Maybe then our children would not be fixated on all the garbage being served up and

we would see grade scores rise in the schools.

A friend of mine no longer receives any channels. She and her husband have 3 kids ages 12, 9 and 15 months.

The kids are fine with it. They can watch by way of the computer; and they still get

netflix. They all like to read!

My husband and I got rid of our TV in 1982!

Amen, lady. Whatever happened to reading a book? I know what happened - CABLE!!! It's called 'the Dumbing Down of America." It's true, too. Honor students today can use the heck out of a computer and a video game, but a lot of them have no real concept of grammar, proper sentence structure or puctuation and PENMANSHIP?!?! What's that? LOL

You're right....we can live without certain things and have it make a big difference in our quality of life overall. ;D

you can save $100,000. over a fity year period by not smokeing. many people save a great deal of time and money by not plugging into system at all. the system can over charge and have lengthy contracts for sub standard service. many claim to give you 20mps but the highest rated service is about 7mps.

antenna tv went digital because the proton belt ascension would distort analog frequency too much and render it useless. the government needs ways to keep people stupid (and uninformed) so they pushed this digital conversion. no, the end of the world won't happen, but the way we life will drastically change in 2013. try not to lose your mind people.
