Rare vistior at High Elms Junction, Q1 Frankenstein 33018 , minus smokebox number plate, on an inter-regional working.
Fitted with a Loksound decoder and base enhanced speaker, all in the loco, not the tender.

  • Is that a QSI sound unit?

  • Pretty impressive!

That sound effect of a loose coupled train is highly nostalgic!

I have a Q1 limited production series on my Dublo 3 rail from a specialist producer.

They were extremely serviceable and successful locos. I hope the one at the Bluebell will re-enter service before too long.

  • 0:53 - is that the slack of the train running out, or is the engine making all that racket? Superb job!

  • this I like :)

  • Such a little workhorse the Q1s. I've got 2 of them and I think they are great. Such a raw basic looking engine, and yet so appealing. Thanks for the video. Nice weathering on those carriages and the loco too.

  • Wow~ the sound is so crisp...unbelievable!
