Dempsey will go down for a while as the best American field player to ply his trade in Europe, even beating out McBride. On the National Team however, Dempsey has some ways to go before he can overtake Donovan as the best player of all time. Donovan's stats and his trajectory since the U-17's cannot be matched by anyone as of yet.
