You have to get a new drive my friend.

LOTS OF TAPE

The problem with this drive is: The drive can't really close itself, and for safety of the components like the motor or the belt. it will open itself again. cuz it may be blocked by something
To fix this is to remove the belt and clean it and put it back in or take a close look to that mechanism if it still wont work.

Close it and hold it closed try that should work

FUCK MICROSOFT

Whats wrong is that after you close the tray the piece holding the lazer and the disc spinner isn't poping up to read it or try to play the disc so the tray decides to open again not finding the lazer

my cousin had this problem. he would just hit the xbox when the tray was closed and the light was flashing. this would fix that for him but i am unaware if that will fix yours as well.

because i need help with taking off the magnet off the Hitachi-LG DVD drive

Peel off the label on the top of the drive. There will be a plastic disc covering the magnet. Heat the disc with a hair drier, then use a knife to pry it out. Lift the magnet straight up.

@DWells55 Do you have any idea where I can get one of those plastic pieces attached to the magnet? What happened was I didn't have the tool to remove the piece, so I tried to remove it by hand and, it kinda broke lol, pretty stupid thing to do I know lol. The drive works fine, but I'm just kinda worried that sooner or later it may cause some damage to either a disk or the drive itself.

@xXxLAMBOFGOD12xXx Your best bet would be to check out the xbox-scene forums and go to their B/S/T (buy/sell/trade) section and put in a want to buy request for one. I'm sure there will be someone who has one.

its in mode b flash your drive

Nope, I updated the description a while ago describing the fix.
Also, Mode B only lasts as long as the system is powered on. So power cycling it would've fixed the problem.
