Wiggles interview about Sam's firing goes bad (Today Show Australia)

Anthony is asked some very simple questions about Sam being dumped by the Wiggles. He is completely unprepared which is bizarre for such a well-oiled machine. The fallout from this could do some damage for the Wiggles brand.

Sam only had a contract for 5yrs, it ran out and they didn't renew it. BIG FREAKIN DEAL people... thats what happens in show business and i'm sure it's not going to be the end of Sam's career.... i'm still gonna let my child watch The Wiggles...

@aeonflux67 Wrong on many counts:First CD 1991 (recorded in Jan as Greg turned 19) no group before that & they officially formed then (20th bday last year.) They earned 50 million with Greg in 06, this year 28 million. sam offered nothing creatively & wrote almost no songs. Greg has a large fan base & kids worldwide under 5 know who he is. BRW says his back catalog sales is the bulk of their earnings.Greg is only 6 yrs older than moran. Greg took them to #1. They slid downhill since.

@BigDaddyChiefy88 The 28 million was not The Wiggles salary. They didn't "divide it & run." They now carry a large debt which needs repaying, they have 60 employees at HQ alone, dancers, buying & upkeep of equipment, insurance, taxes, normal bills like telephone & electric, tour expenses (airlines, buses, hotels, food) and more I'm sure. Plus they put money back in the business. He had a generous salary, a 64K payout plus 60 to 100,000K royalties yearly now & use of the studio.

@BigDaddyChiefy88 Best decision they ever made! Greg looks handsome, strong & healthy. He must have great strength to ovecome his condition & return to the group. I'm sure your looks are nothing to brag about, the word creep comes to mind. Greg worked energetically for 16 yrs thru varied physical problems.He's returned in the best condition he's ever been.His enthusiasm is great because he loves the group. Something moran never did. Greg's voice is the Wiggles signature sound.

@HotPinkMonkey86 How can someone who did nothing but sing (?) be better than one who helped create the Wiggles, who was the main songwriter, who was their face & voice for 16 yrs, who helped them make important business decisions! B.S. So Greg's hair has grayed. That doesn't make him old, he's only 6 yrs older than moran. @mumsthebboss 200,000 is a high salary for one who did nothing more than show up to sing. The 28 million was not split between the other 3. They have more than 60 employees at HQ, dancers, insurance, upkeep, taxes, tour expenses (buses, trucks, extra workers, hotel & food) debts to repay. Ridiculous how people think that money is just given to The Wiggles. He got 60,000 plus royalties yearly of 60 to 100,000 & use of the studio. Greg was the owner, creator & founder. No comparison!

@Essdyn Stuff sam. He has no creative talent, can't write songs & butchered every Wiggles song he sang (if you can call it that.) In no way did he do anything that equals Greg as co/ founder & co/creator of the group. Greg was the main songwriter. He put in the hard years & took them to the top. Greg's voice is The Wiggles signature sound. Greg is only SIX yrs older than sam. The 4 friends want to work together, they share a long time closeness.It is THEIR company & THEIR right to do so.

i read an article that said Anthony fired Sam and Anthony said they all wanted Greg back so now I'm confused :\ lol
