  • Liberal and conservative have no concrete meaning. A better test is whether she is in favor of Individual rights and freedom, or group or government rights or dictatorship. In other words, freedom within the bounds of the written law, or dictatorship by the gov't, majority, or leaders. She's is for the rights of the group, clearly.

  • Who said we are not in favor of states rights? I am completely for the sovereignty of states but there is also a binding contract that we all joined in together to follow a basic set of human rights we all deserve. When my state or your state violates that contract the rest of the states have an obligation to stop that injustice. Just because we believe in states rights does NOT mean we support a dissolution of this country.

  • what ever happened to the conservatives that were so in favour of states rights, and not want the big bad federal government telling the states what they can't do

  • This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding.

  • I love how the second amendment decision that Sotomayor handed down saying that it was only a Federal right complete negates this simple fact that any one of us has learned in high school government. "Supremacy Clause" which is under Article 6 paragraph 2 reads,....

  • I couldn't agree more. Read the transcript, not the one sentence everyone is pointing at and making racist judgments about. Great video by the way, I learned a lot! Much better discussion of Sotomayor than I've seen on any of the alleged news networks like FOX or MSNBC.

  • Facing what you have to offer is what I'm doing. I don't want it and I will fight it the rest of my life.

You have liberty mixed up. Liberty IS freedom, not the right to enslave people of their money. You also have terror mixed up with freedom.

  • You want to get rid of the American Civil Liberties Union — which fights for our constitution? You don't like liberty? Would you rather have more Bush big government and PATRIOT ACTS? More tax cuts for big businesses and the rich (not average people)?

Face it, America is a liberal nation. Liberty is liberal (look up the root lib). Democracy is liberal. Freedom is liberal... If you don't like it, why not try Iran or Saudi Arabia? Why wish the rest of us to live in a conservative nightmare?

  • She didn't say anything racist. Try reading the transcript in full. Racism is race hatred, not merely wishing for a court that better represents our multicultural society.

  • Ahmadinejad and bin Laden would completely agree. They are conservatives too.
